Today, I paid $5 for my daughter to eat generic macaroni and cheese, a small helping of canned mixed fruit, and 4 oz of white milk. Something I could have offered her at home (I wouldn’t… but could have) for less than $1. I was not happy with this particular establishment after our food was delivered… but I also hate confrontation and so I kept quiet.
When did it become acceptable for restaurants to serve this kind of “food”? I know this isn’t the first experience we’ve had with canned fruit or vegetables. I get it… it’s cheap. But don’t expect me and my family to take the trouble to come to pay good money for something that we probably have in our cupboard for pennies on the dollar. It’s hard work taking little ones out to eat (which is why its rare around these parts) and after experiences like this, the list of restaurants NOT to go to is growing increasingly long.
What’s your best or worst experience with restaurants and kids?
